Promotions Committee Meeting Minutes June 29, 2007 Members Present: Bridget, Marty, Bill, Bob, Derek Welcome new chairman Derek Henze and new committee member Bob Herold from Dale’s Bootery!!
Taste of Whitewater: After further discussion, it has been decided that the Promotion committee will not be joining in the Robstock festivities. Bridget will contact Shane and see if the Royal Purple is still interested in continuing with the Taste of Whitewater. Bill will still be in contact with the city to block off the street and tables and chairs. Some of the things we will need to work on will be: Ads, street closing, beer licensing, headlining music, & vendors. We will also ask Shane to hand out an outline of progress for the event. I have spoke to Shane regarding the Taste of Whitewater and The Royal Purple are very willing go forward with the event. He will send everyone an outline of progress and is able to make meetings better in the afternoon on Friday. He did let me know that the Love Monkeys most likely have an opening for the date of Taste of WW. He also let me know that no Downtown business he spoke with had any negative response regarding the event. Kristine Zaballos has also mentioned that if we needed help with a beer license, she would be more than willing to help.
Promotion Committee Focus: Derek mentioned that a newsletter being dropped off personally to each Downtown business would be a good idea to get merchants to join the promotion committee. If merchants can see what we are up to, they may be more willing to cooperate with us and tell us how they would like to be promoted. Bill mentioned to the group that we should approach Downtown businesses individually and try to recruit them to the committee. A list of businesses was requested as well.
Meeting Date: Due to Shane’s schedule I will ask the committee to change the date of the next meeting to 2:00pm on 7/6 at The Sweet Spot. I have approved the time with Shane already. If there is a conflict with this time, please let me know and we can work something out.
