Minutes of the Downtown Whitewater, Inc. Organization Committee Meeting-May 15, 2007 Discover Whitewater Building 171 W. Main Street, Whitewater, WI 53190 Members Present-Bill Bowen, Kristine Zaballos, and Kevin Brunner Others Present-Exec. Director Allison Lodge Kristine called the meeting to order at 3:30 p.m.

1. Review/Approval of April 17th Meeting Minutes Minutes of April 17th were approved.

2. Discuss May 31st Downtown Cookout Event at Cravath Lakefront Community Center from 5:30-7:30pm The new business in WW will be called Dan’s Meat Market and will be owned and operated by Dan Malone. Committee responsibilities are as follows: Kristine- Once we have finalized numbers, will pick up wine and beer. Bill- Will supply the soda as part of his in kind contribution. In addition, she will also pick up potato salad and other condiments. Ali- Will write press releases and prepare a brief informal presentation. This will include boards with before and after photos of the Whitewater Hotel, information regarding the Stewart Building, information about Craig Ellsworth’s proposal for Main Street, our various renderings that have been completed for us by Joe Lawniczak, a section about the Cravath Lakefront Arch, and a tentative section regarding the Stone Stable project. Azure Nutting will be bartending the event. Kevin- Will finalize and sign the contract with Craig and then get Ali the final copy. He will also gather the boards showing the site plans for the Stewart Building. .

3. Review Upcoming Rick Segel Presentation/Publicity Once the flyers are printed by GMA, Ali will contact other Main Street Organizations and Chambers to invite attendees. Members (any financial donor or any committee member who is active within the organization with a ‘signed card’ will pay $20. Non-Members attending for a full day will pay $75 ($45) for a half day. All registrations include lunch. Kevin will attempt to get the mailing list for the Walworth County Economic Development Council. Ali will email an electronic version of the program to this list. Kristine will have flyers to Ali on Thursday. We will give flyers to Katie Pierce to take back to merchants in Mukwonago. We will also get the electronic version to our Small Business Development Center for distribution. We will also pursue taking ads out in the Janesville Gazette and the business section of the State Journal. Kristine will research the cost of an ad. It was unanimously decided that Downtown Whitewater, Inc. board members will pay the $20 admittance fee.

4. Downtown Clean Sweep Jorge from Sigma America has agreed to organize the event, anticipating 30 participants. He would prefer a weekend. Kevin will propose the date of June 2nd from 8am-10am. If this is inconvenient, he will gather different dates and times. We will send out ‘Save the Date’ announcements once a date is finalized. There will also be a possible Clean Sweep on June 23rd in preparation for Whitewater’s Home-Coming event. Kevin will check with Chuck Nass regarding his street sweeping schedule so we may plan accordingly.

Future Agenda Items: Fundraising options (please review the packet that Ali gave you during the meeting), and a discussion regarding a signature event for Whitewater. Next Regularly Scheduled Meeting- June 12th at 3:30 P.M. at the Discover Whitewater Building. Respectfully Submitted, Allison Lodge, Executive Director
