Cinco de Mayo- Liquor licenses; Can we actually get one? If not, is there an indoor alternative where we could obtain a license? If not, do we want to have this celebration at all?

Weather- Typically questionable in May.

Taste of Whitewater- Offer items for under $4 at the Cravath Lakefront

Collaborate with UW-W, DTWW, and others.

Objectives- Secure a venue for the event, gain support from the community, promote local businesses, provide entertainment with a lineup of activities for the day, and create an annual event.

A beer tent?

Possible date: Spring-less time to plan but more interest and people around to help with the planning.

What are the hours going to be? With an earlier ending time, we would be more likely to obtain a beer permit.

Taste of Whitewater:

Leaning towards spring of 07, Apr 28 or May 5

Need to have sale for businesses to attract recognition from UW students

Block off side St. for music

Ask other businesses if they would get involved-set up booths with merchandise available for incoming visitors

Biggest freshman class coming in next year-the biggest in 10 years!

Perhaps fall would be better-introduce downtown to incoming students.

General consensus is that September would be better-we could have the shuttle running and it could be our kick-off.

Other activities- Possible involvement of the Rec. Center, blow-up houses for children, working artist, body painting, Whitewater Idol, Kareoke, Band-Love Monkey’s,

Free advertising with the Royal Purple

Visit businesses and gather opinions, and the leadership

Next Meeting: March 13th 3:30 at the Double Dip Deli

Fall Festival-Spirit of Whitewater

Set up a sidewalk sale-in the spring

Musicians on the street with dancers-have business involvement

Line up different musical acts; on different corners of Whitewater

Objectives: Talk to possible musicians regarding performing, talk to businesses about April 28th for a sidewalk sale, thinking about names, promotions (banner, marketing with inserts)

Look into possible permits that are required for street performers
