Promotions Committee Meeting Minutes
May 22, 2007
Members Present: Bridget, Ali, Emma Lou, Marty, Bill, Therese
Taste of Whitewater:
After approaching the city council meeting on June 5 we will be able to contact Pat McCurdy and confirm the event. Therese is working on the presentation for the city this week. Therese will then email the presentation to all Promotion committee members for review. Shane will be presenting a power point for The Taste of Whitewater at the meeting. Bill will talk to the city about getting on the agenda for the meeting. So far, the only brewery sponsoring this event is Randy’s. Therese will email Shane and ask him to contact Randy’s and ask them to be present at the city council meeting as well.
New Chairperson:
Marty will be stepping down from Chair but will still be a member of the Promotions Committee. Her replacement will be new Downtown Board member Derek Henze. Derek is the manager of the CEO and spirit shop.
Promotion Committee Focus:
It was decided that an image campaign & completed work plan is necessary for downtown and making the Promotion committee more successful. Ali has asked the committee to send her at least 2 questions by 5/31 to ask the merchants downtown regarding how they would like to be promoted. The committee has decided to wait for Derek to take the Chair position before implementing the work plan for the Taste of Whitewater and a new image campaign for downtown. Ali will email ‘Perceptions of Whitewater’ to all committee members to help with the image campaign. An intern for Downtown Whitewater is a possibility for the summer. We will use this intern to create a brochure and help with the website amongst other things.
Meeting Date:
The new meeting time will be every other Friday at 8:30am at the Double Dip Deli. This will begin on Friday June 8th.
