Whitewater City Market
Whitewater City Market’s 2020 outdoor season on Tuesday, March 31, with essential vendors (those selling food or soap) operating, social distancing measures, and no social activities (beer, music, tables, etc.). Current vendors are selling items including eggs, chicken, jams, salsa, bread, salad greens and other vegetables, honey, kombucha, and coffee.
The market is employing a host of measures designed to keep vendors and market-goers safe, following state Department of Health Services guidelines, including staging vendor stands at least 10 feet apart, offering hand sanitizer and free face masks, banning the use of reusable bags, and having vendors set up their stands to ensure market-goers stay at least 6 feet away and do not touch the products.
The market will continue in this way until a determination is be made regarding slowly reintroducing market features like food carts, non-food vendors, tables, beer service, and music.
For those who prefer contactless shopping, the market has an online virtual marketplace that provides alternative ways to shop: tinyurl.com/VirtualWWCM.
The market is located at the Historic Train Depot and open every Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. A list of weekly vendors can be found on the market’s Facebook page: Facebook.com/WhitewaterCityMarket.
