Winter Activities for Kids in Whitewater
It’s cold outside, but that doesn’t mean you have to stay in all winter! There are lots of great activities going on that will get your kids out of the house and into the community this winter.
Whitewater Aquatic Center
Did you know that the Whitewater Aquatic Center is open year-round? They have a great family-friendly pool that features a water slide and splash pad area! There’s even a hot tub for mom and dad. Daily admission is $8 for Whitewater residents and $10 for non-residents. Whitewater School District Residents also get in free on the first Friday of every month from 5-7 pm! Check out their website for more information.
You can enjoy many of the trails and parks that you frequent during warmer months in the winter, too! The Ice Age Trail, Starin Park, Cravath Lakefront Park, and the UW-Whitewater Nature Preserve are all great places to get some exercise and embrace the winter weather!
The Irvin L Young Memorial Library has tons of great children’s programming! From arts and crafts to storytime, you can check out their events calendar to see what’s happening this week. The library is also a great place to go for a quiet afternoon of reading.
There are so many ways to beat the winter blues right here in town! What is your favorite Whitewater winter activity?
